JUNE 14TH: YOUTH DAY

Youth Day. Rev. Emmett Young, Director of Christian Education, Metropolitan Pleasant Baptist Church, will be the guest preacher for both services.

JUNE 22ND: VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL

Vacation Bible School. The Jesus Chronicles A life changing Encounter! Vacation Bible School is scheduled for June 22, 2009. We are in need of volunteers to help us prepare for a wonderful journey as we explore the Ministry and Miracles of Jesus. Teacher training will take place on Thursday, May 21,2009 at 6:30PM. All those interested in working with Vacation Bible School, please see Deaconess Shirley McCall, Sis. Mildred Lacey or First Lady Deborah Drummer.

JUNE 25 - 27: MUSIC MINISTRY WORKSHOP

All are cordially invited to be a part of the Music and Performing Arts Workshop, Advancing the Music Ministry” and Concert.  The workshop is scheduled to begin on Thursday, June 25th   at 6:30 PM and culminates in a concert on Saturday, June 27th at 7:00pm.  A light supper will be served on Saturday June 27th.  Registration forms can be found in the vestibule of the church.  Please fill out the registration form and submit to Minister of Music Michael Silver or Sister Gail Cullen. There is no registration fee for members of Gethsemane Baptist.

JUNE 28 - JULY 2: PNBC

Progressive National Baptist Convention, Eastern Region 2009 Congress of Christian Education will convene at the University of Maryland, Eastern Shore.  Contact the Director of Christian Education, Deaconess Shirley McCall for details.

NURSERY MINISTRY

Parents may now bring children (infants-6 years old) to Room 209.  Volunteers ARE needed; please contact Sister Rana Johnson or First Lady Deborah Drummer.

The Credit Union office is now located at 5117 4th Street, NW, 2nd Floor.  The hours of operation remain the same.

SCREENING

Monthly blood pressure screenings are now available “free of cost” on the 2nd and 4th Sunday following the 11:00 am service. High blood pressure continues to be a “Silent Killer” that can be prevented if managed properly. For more information, contact Sister Madeline Shelton.

SECURITY

The Security Ministry is looking for a “Few Good Men and Women”.  The Security Ministry meets on the fourth Monday of every Month at 6:30 PM.in Room 108.  If you want to be a part of this important ministry, please contact Deacon Fred Bowen.
