“The Gethsemane Sentinel Newsletter comes back at a Good Time!”
The Gethsemane Sentinel Newsletter is back after a long sabbatical. However, it comes at atime when it is most appropriate as significant changes are being made in the history of our church with the Nehemiah Project and the “Challenge to the Chosen” that has come along with this endeavor. The beginning of this project which is what many of us have long awaitedfinally has a date, Monday, November 5, 2007. God has answered the petitions of those who prayed for an elevator, more restroom facilities, expanded offices and classroom space. Arel Architects, Inc. put a physical design to our vision and Wolverine Constructionwill bring that visionto reality. We now face a challenge similar to that which the Israelites faced when God delivered them from bondage in EgyptwithMoses as their leader. They began their journey to the land God had promised them, but in order to get there, they faced challenges in the wilderness. Sometimes in order for God’s people to benefit from His blessings, they have to endure some challenges. I believe that it is during these challenges that our faith will be tested. God will observe the faith of those who He has chosen to see if the really trust Him when they are challenged by circumstances beyond their control. This first phase of construction for Gethsemane will last approximately 6 months and will reduce meeting and worship space significantly. It is my prayer that during this time, we will unify our relationships as we develop solutions that may not be readily seen to continue our ministries. I know thatGod can trust us to work cooperatively togetherand that we will keep “The Main Thing, The Main Thingand Let the Church be The Church.” Continue to pray without ceasing for our Nehemiah Project and Godwill bless us bountifully and abundantly and He will work all things together for the good to them who love Him and are called according to His purpose. Unlike the Gethsemane Sentinel, the Nehemiah Project will have an end date, which although unknown at this time, is anxiously awaited, which is how I hope you feel about including your good news article in the next issue.
